Need Help Reaching Your Goals?

New Year resolutions may long be forgotten as we move into the 2nd month of 2023. Hopefully not. Hopefully you're encouraged and really enjoying new motivation and small consistent successes.

Some of us may feel discouraged, stuck, or even defeated. Maybe you haven't even started taking actions towards achieving those resolutions or goals. This can feel very discouraging. Our minds begin to lie to us and tell us that all this goal reaching stuff works for others but not for us. We take the thoughts and we begin to create our reality around those thoughts.

The Bible teaches us many, many, truths about our dreams and goals. The Bible teaches us so many things about our day to day life. The Bible encourages us in all these things toward an end that is good and prosperous. Those promises are not just for the afterlife of heaven. Those promises can be realized in the earthly life as well.

Getting to know God is difficult because so many people are sharing what and who they believe God is. My encouragement to you is to get to know God by reading the Book He wrote.

While that may seem daunting and boring, it doesn't have to be. God offers His Holy Spirit as our teacher, guide, and comforter along the way.

God promises us an expected end, to prosper us and not harm us. We prosper only as our souls prosper. Our soul which is our mind, will, and emotions, prospers only as we feed our spirit. We are made in the image of God, created as spirit, soul (mind, will, emotions) and body.

Proverbs 16:3 tells us that God will establish our plans...if we commit those plans to the Lord.

Did you know we can make that commitment daily as we meditate on God's words, rather than our own thoughts, or man's input? Focusing our minds on scripture will feed our spirit and restore our soul, which again means we are restoring our mind, our will, and our emotions with the life giving words of scripture from God.

Nothing else has the power to complete a healing work inside of us. Biblical meditation is reading, muttering, pondering the Words of God. This activity done daily throughout our day, more often than we eat, or snack, will facilitate change that is excellent, True, lovely, and of good report.

Simply:

  1. Open your heart to God

  2. Ask God: 'What does it mean to commit our plans to Him?'.

  3. Listen as you move through the day. Answers will come.

  4. Read The Bible, Meditate on the Scripture. The scripture below is a good starting place. Insight and understanding will come as we open our hearts to the God of the Bible. Say out loud or mutter the scripture under the breath, as often as you eat. Feed your Spirit to restore your soul, which is your mind, your will, and your emotions.

  5. Repeat this activity daily, as often as you eat or more often.

The Bible is a life giving force. The Words of God are seed. Plant the seed and reap a bountiful harvest of good beyond all we can, ask, think, or imagine.

My people perish for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight reign on his tongue, he deceived himself and his religion is worthless. James 4
